Volunteer Opportunities

  • Become A Husky Ambassador

Do you love UConn? Do you want to share your stories, experiences, and Husky pride with a prospective student? Are you looking for volunteer opportunities in the community? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you will love being part of the Husky Ambassador Program!

Husky Ambassadors assist the Office of Admissions by hosting prospective students during our Husky-for-a-Day visits and serve as greeters for our Open Houses and campus tours. You will be able to share your Husky pride and recruit the next generation of UConn Huskies on days you choose to volunteer – gaining interpersonal skills, volunteer hours, and building community ties. Our top ambassadors will have the chance to receive a $500 scholarship for that semester.

If you are interested in getting involved or learning more about the program, please fill out the interest form and attend one of our Spring 2025 Training Sessions. These sessions only need to be completed once and will give you all the information you need to volunteer for any Husky-for-a-Day events throughout the year. No RSVP is required, just attend whichever training best fits your schedule!

HUSKY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM Spring 2025 TRAINING SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON:

    Monday’s: 6:00 PM

    Tuesday’s: 6:00 PM

    Friday’s: 4:00 PM

You'll only need to attend ONE session at the time you choose. All training will be held in the Presentation Room of the Lodewick Visitors Center (115 North Eagleville Rd. – Next to Ted’s and across from Gant/Northwest). No RSVP is required, just attend whichever training best fits your schedule! These sessions will be running every week at the above times.

Husky Ambassadors serve a few roles as representatives of the University. This can include different tasks, such as being a host for Husky-for-a-Day, a Campus Tour greeter, or someone who works Call Campaigns on behalf of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Some benefits of this position include fresh UConn gear, impactful interactions with perspective UConn families, public speaking and social skill development, and a priority for paid positions with the Lodewick Visitors Center.
