  • Nursing Students Wanted for a Research Study

Actively recruiting subjects for participation in cutting edge research: “Objective Continuous Assessment of Nurses’ Trust in Artificial Intelligence Healthcare Technologies”.

You have the chance to participate in a research study exploring the relationship between nurses and artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare setting. In healthcare technologies, there has been an explosion of AI tools devised to improve nurses' lives and increase patients’ safety. These AI healthcare technologies (AIHT) tools have enormous potential for improving healthcare, reducing costs, and improving the efficiency of the healthcare system. However, an element that determines the acceptance and uptake of any AI technology is trust. As a nuanced concept, further understanding how a nurse trusts AI technology can aid in affective implementation of AIHT across the field.

The purpose of this study is to collect biological signals that measure nervous system activity while participants are exposed to a variety of hypothetical nursing-related scenarios where AI aid is provided. You will be asked to wear a wrist-worn health monitor watch that will collect electrodermal activity along with photoplethysmogram. You will be asked to answer a series of questions after each scenario presented with respect to what you would decide to do in the given situation. The study requires one visit to the lab located on the UConn Storrs campus.

Compensation will be provided upon full completion of the study in the form of a $40.00 preloaded debit card.

Interested participants MUST BE nursing students who have completed no more than three years of nursing courses.
