  • Join the Genome Ambassador Program

Did you know a survey of medical residents revealed that 90% of respondents consider genetic education essential to their specialty? Yet, most felt they lacked adequate experience with genetics training.

Additionally, a national survey indicated that only 1/2 of those surveyed were aware of genetic testing, and around 1/3 were aware that genetic testing can contribute to disease treatment.

Are you interested in joining an organization that brings essential genetics knowledge to the UConn community, CT residents, and beyond?

🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬 Join the Genome Ambassador Program! 🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬

We are dedicated to advancing genetics literacy and education throughout Connecticut, starting with our students. Our initiatives include community-building events such as hosting middle school classes for field trips to our Institute of Systems Genomics, where students engage in hands-on lab activities. We also raise funds for causes like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and collaborate on exciting new partnerships with the CT Science Center and local businesses. Additionally, we offer members up to three professional development seminars each semester, covering various careers and topics in genetics (honors-eligible!).

Help shape the future of genomics leadership by joining Genome Ambassadors today!
