  • Biodiversity and Conservation Genomics Opportunity

The Biodiversity and Conservation Genetics (BCG) Training Program, led by the Institute for Systems Genomics, in collaboration with research laboratories within EEB and MCB, is inviting applications for its fourth cohort.

This year-long initiative, starting in the summer of 2025 and concluding in the spring of 2026, offers a unique training and research opportunity. Those who are not graduating will have the option to continue independent research into the following Summer. The program is designed for highly motivated undergraduates who are eager to gain skills in genomics, develop computational tools, and create genetic resources for species at risk.

The field of conservation genetics is increasingly important to both restoration and conservation strategies for threatened species. Trainees will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes work in academic research labs, and collaboration with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and/or government agencies engaged in conservation efforts.
