Volunteer Opportunities

  • 3/16 Volunteer in New Haven during Your Spring Break

Alternative Breaks are service-learning experiences which work alongside and support communities to seek a more equitable and inclusive society. Alternative Breaks programs are designed to heighten participants’ awareness of critical social issues, enhance their individual growth, and prepare them for lifelong social action. The Food Systems Alternative Break is a spring break service trip to New Haven that focuses on food insecurity and nutritional access in our communities.
As a participant you’ll have an unique opportunity to engage with various communities in both Hartford and New Haven over the span of one week! If YOU are looking for a mind-opening and cultivating experience, check out our website and visit us for more information in the Community Outreach office in Student Union! The Food Systems Alt. Break application is open for a rolling basis. Although applications are accepted on a rolling basis, it would be preferred to apply before Thanksgiving break to ensure that your application will be reviewed before the end of the semester!
