Leadership Opportunities

  • UConn Connects Mentors Gain Professional Skills

Why become a UConn Connects Mentor?

Experiential learning like serving as a mentor, working with people and learning skills to effectively motivate and support a student, is what a great grad school application is made of!

It's the difference between a good job interview and a great one where you are able to SHOW, not just tell, why you would be the best candidate for a job.

Experiential learning is filled with opportunities to build transferable skills for the professional world. So what are you waiting for? Take the next steps!

Becoming a UConn Connects mentor includes 3 important steps:

    1.      Complete the Peer Mentor Application on the Academic Achievement Center website as soon as possible (recruitment is rolling but wraps up by finals week).

    2.      Sign up for a group interview via Nexus. There are dates during October, November and several in December.

    3.      Attend the mandatory mentor training weekend where you will kickoff the term with valuable skills, networking and inspiration from other student mentors! The dates of the training will be confirmed shortly.
