School, Program, and Course Information

  • German Courses and Programs at UConn

Interested in combining your current major with a German major or minor? Check out our popular dual degree programs Eurotech [Engineering + German] and Eurobiz [Business + German] or other combinations, such as Environmental Studies and German or Human Rights and German. Any major can be combined with a German major.

We offer great study abroad and internship abroad opportunities. Many German courses fulfill General Education Requirements, and with good planning, one additional course per semester is all it takes. If you have no German skills, begin with taking GERM 1001 in the spring semester.

Only interested in German culture or history but don't want to take language courses? We offer GERM 1171 (German Film), GERM 1140W (German Literature in Translation), and GERM 3251 (German Culture Across Time) in the spring semester. These are Gen Ed courses that are taught in English and have no prerequisites
