Seeking 3-5 students to serve on the Joint Elections Marketing Committee
Application deadline: October 27, 2015 by 5 PM
- Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Committee will run from the week of November 10 through March 5. Committee members are not expected to be on campus during Thanksgiving or Winter Breaks.
- Running marketing efforts for campus-wide elections that take place in March for Undergraduate Student Government (USG), Student Trustee, Student Director for Foundation, Co-Op Board of Directors, and Graduate Student Senate (GSS).
- This is NOT marketing for specific candidates but instead focuses on three phases:
- Education about positions available and creating interest
- Encouraging students to run for office
- Getting students to vote
- Responsible for working in a team to create marketing campaigns for each phase including themes, slogans, initiatives, and other creative ways to publicize elections
- Responsible for execution of ideas
- Weekly meetings with the entire committee
- Suggested Qualifications
- Fee-paying, currently enrolled undergraduate student at UConn-Storrs campus
- Marketing, Advertising, or similar major
- Interest in marketing or graphic design and gaining experience with running a multi-step campaign
- Time Commitment
- Weekly strategy meetings (less than 1 hour)
- Projects as assigned/volunteered for (1-3 hours per week)
