UConn Innovate Labs will be offering a program called the EcoInnovate Hydroponics Program. This program will introduce students to growing their own hydroponics and will teach them how to use and maintain a mini hydroponic farm. Students will also learn about nutrition, sustainable farming, food insecurity and cooking. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to take home their mini hydroponic farming set up for free with the hopes that they and continue to grow their own food out of their dorm rooms, homes or apartments.
This will be a 8-week extracurricular program, with the goal to help fight food insecurity on campus and educate students about farming techniques. Preference for admission will be given to students who are experiencing food insecurity. Deadline to apply is Wednesday, September 11th.
