Health360 is accepting applications for the CT Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Network HEALTHForward AmeriCorps program. The HEALTHForward AmeriCorps Program aims to increase health and health career knowledge in disadvantaged communities through implementation of the Youth Health Service Corps (YHSC) and Collegiate Health Service Corps (CHSC) service learning programs. YHSC and CHSC are health career recruitment programs that engage diverse students as leaders in service learning that addresses community health issues. HEALTHForward AmeriCorps members recruit, train and manage students in the YHSC and CHSC programs, exposing students to health care careers and teaching them how to successfully enter onto upwardly mobile health care career ladders. In addition, HEALTHForward AmeriCorps members aim to improve underserved communities' health knowledge through implementation of Community-Based Experiential Training Programs with health professions students. This is a full-time, 10-month commitment beginning September 2024.
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Applicants must be 18 years or older and be either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien.
Service sites are at CT AHEC offices in the Hartford and Shelton area.
Benefits: Members receiving training, a $21,000 living stipend, and $7395 education award upon successful completion of service.
