  • Apply: Urban Poverty & Political Action Alt Break

    Want to learn more about urban poverty? Interested in advocacy and politics?  Apply today for the alternative spring break to Washington D.C.!

     

    During this week long alternative break, students will be staying at the Father McKenna Center, the only remaining daytime drop-in center for homeless men in downtown Washington D.C.  Throughout the week, students will work directly with the clients of the Father McKenna Center, while also partnering with other organizations tackling critical issues of urban poverty.  Such issues may include healthcare, education, food security, legal services, and affordable housing.  Students will also learn about advocacy efforts and current political action surrounding urban poverty.  All interested students are encouraged to apply!
