The University of Connecticut Health Leaders (UCHL) is a community-based pre-health program founded for bridging health care disparities by addressing the social determinants of health for the State of Connecticut. The University of Connecticut is the primary health system that takes care of Medicaid patients in our state, thus an excellent environment for such a program to exist.
We will soon be accepting applications for the fall 2024 session of our program and would appreciate it if you could spread the word about this opportunity. The application opens Monday, May 20th at 8 a.m. The program will run from September 9th through November 22nd, with a mandatory training day on September 14th. Volunteers will be required to complete 40 hours and volunteer shifts are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
