We are thrilled to extend an invitation for your organization to partake in UCTVs inaugural Film Festival, a celebration of creativity and storytelling through the powerful medium of film. Scheduled for Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 11am to 3 pm, this event promises to be an engaging and dynamic showcase of emerging talents in filmmaking.
Event Overview: The festival will take place in Lawrence D. McHugh Hall, Room 102, at the University of Connecticut, offering a platform for filmmakers to share their narratives with a diverse audience.
Submission Details: We are thrilled to welcome submissions via the user-friendly FilmFreeway platform, streamlining the process for filmmakers to share their creative masterpieces. The submission deadline is April 8, 2024, at 5:00 pm, allowing ample time for aspiring artists to showcase their talents. Submissions are encouraged in diverse categories, spanning from captivating short films to mesmerizing music videos and thought-provoking documentaries. Please note that we do not accept submissions via YouTube.
Note: There is an entry fee for students outside of the University of Connecticut. This entry fee is $10.
Filmmakers whose submissions are accepted will receive notification via email by April 15th, providing them time to prepare and travel for this eagerly anticipated event. We extend a warm invitation to the public to join us in celebrating the artistry and innovation of our talented filmmakers.
Recognition and Prizes: Winners in two categories, Audience Choice and Judges' Choice, will receive promotion of their work. including a direct link to their video on our platform.
Judges' Choice winners, who must prove UConn undergraduate status to be eligible for the grand prize, will receive additional recognition. Audience Choice winners. who must prove College student status via student ID, will be eligible for prizes through utllizing the finds collected from the entry fee. Winners will also receive a graphic, in addition to a certificate to promote on social media and graphics.
