  • 3/18 Creation of Shared Drives on Google Disabled

Starting today, March 18th, you will no longer be able to create new shared drives in the UConn Google Workspace environment. A shared drive is a folder in Google Drive that you share with a team outside of your personal drive.

    • Staff: You may still access your files in Google until your account is closed on April 30th. Your Google files have been moved to OneDrive, however, and ITS recommends that you create and edit files in Microsoft.
    • Students: You may still access and create files (Google Docs, Sheets, etc) in your Google Account until ITS begins to move your files to Microsoft 365. This will occur after the spring semester ends.
    • Faculty: You may still access and create files (Google Docs, Sheets, etc) in your Google Account until ITS begins to move your files to Microsoft 365. This will occur after this summer.

If you need to create a new shared location for team files, you may set up a SharePoint site.
