Volunteering at Mansfield Senior Center
Do you love giving back to your community? Are you looking for volunteer opportunities?
The Mansfield Senior Center is looking for volunteers this semester through UConn’s Community Outreach. The Mansfield Senior Center Community Outreach program connects students with Seniors in the Mansfield community through social and recreational activities that strengthen emotional and social well-being. We have several service opportunities available including helping with BINGO, art workshops, game days, food service, and welcome desk and reception that are waiting for volunteers of all talents and interests. Both in-person and virtual opportunities are available, and there are meetings throughout the semester to reflect on experiences and make crafts and cards for the Seniors.
There are time slots available Monday through Thursday between 10:30am-4:00pm ranging from 1-3 hours and additional activities you can join Monday through Friday from 9:00am-2:00pm, so you have plenty of options to find something that works with your schedule! Transportation to and from the Mansfield Senior Center will be provided by Community Outreach.
No prior experience is required! We simply look for respect, compassion, and a passion for community service. The Seniors love having us there, and it is a great way to experience working with a different population, share stories and experiences, and to form close bonds with older adults in the community.
