Alternative Breaks are service-learning experiences supporting alongside the community to seek a more equitable and inclusive society. Alternative Breaks trips are designed to heighten participants’ awareness of critical social issues, enhance their individual growth, and prepare them for lifelong social action
For the Food Systems Alternative Break students will support local community initiatives seeking to address food insecurity. In this Spring Break week-long trip, students will volunteer with local food security community partners and food justice farms to understand the importance of healthy food, food access and food waste.
