As you may or may not have heard, last week in Afghanistan there has been a 6.3 magnitude consectutive earthquake in the western Herat province only a few days after a similar earthquake in the same region. Afghanistan's Disaster Management Ministry has confirmed that the death toll for the earthquakes have surpassed 5,000 and over 12,000 people have been affected.
UNICEF Campus Initiative at UConn wil be holding a fundraiser from Monday, October 23rd until Wednesday, October 25th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Homer Babbidge Library at the front entrance by Fairfield Way. Bracelets, stickers, necklaces, king sized candy bars and more will be offered. All of the proceeds will go towards relief for children affected by the disastrous earthquakes in Afghanistan. Stop by on your way to your study session and grab a sweet treat to motivate you as you prepare for your exams knowing you contributed to a great cause.
