Interested in learning how to dance? We are happy to announce that we are hosting a Hollywood-themed Swing Dance on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Doors open at 7 pm, a beginner swing lesson will be 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm, and we will have social dancing 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm with a live band: The Survivors of Swing!
Swing dance is a culmination of dance styles created by the African American dance community, originating from the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York City, encompassing everything from Charleston to Lindy Hop to Jive.
This dance is open to all skill levels and to all undergraduate students. The dance is held on the second floor of the Storrs Congregational Church in the Parish House (2 N Eagleville Rd, Storrs, CT 06268). Semi-formal dress. No partner needed. Hope to see you there!
