    Position Title: Graduate Assistant
    Project Title: Community-based sleep research
    PI Name: Nancy Redeker

    Start/End dates: Academic Year 23-24; Start Date 8/23/2023 – End Date 5/21/2024
    Work location: in person, UConn Storrs and other locations throughout CT
    Overview of Position:
    We are recruiting for a 2 semester (20 hour/week each semester) graduate assistant to support Professor Nancy Redeker. The person in this role will support a community-based research study of sleep among Black and Latina women of childbearing age. The work includes participant recruitment, telephone follow-up, and data collection. The GA may also be asked to support other sleep-research related activities led by Dr. Redeker. The GA will need to have access to a car since travel to sites outside of Storrs will be needed.

    Project Title: Study of support for parents of children with cancer

    Start/End dates: Fall 2023 semester; Start Date 8/23/2023 – End Date 1/6/2024
    Work location: in person, UConn Storrs
    Overview of Position:
    The research assistant will have the opportunity to work on one primary project and assist with secondary research tasks. The primary project is using qualitative analysis methods to evaluate the delivery and documentation of pediatric clinical care, and responsibilities will support data analysis and manuscript development. Secondary research tasks may include assisting with an IRB submission, assisting with the establishment of a community advisory board, and conducting literature searches.

    Project Title: Psychoneurological symptoms profile and gut microbiome characterization in cancer patients on immunotherapy

    Overview of Position:
    The research assistant will have the opportunity to engage in the clinical cancer research project and provide support for secondary research tasks. The primary project involves responsibilities such as recruiting study participants at UConn Health Cancer Center (with a preference for a GA who can commute to UConn Health in Farmington by car), conducting data collection, analyzing biospecimen samples, and contributing to manuscript developments. Additional research tasks may include assisting with IRB submissions/modifications, conducting literature searches, etc.
