Hi all! UConn Student Television Network(UCTV) Human Resources Team is hiring for VP of Administration and VP of Diversity ASAP! Both positions require working under the Chief Human Resources officer and serving the UConn Student Television Network department. Both positions are linked to jobx to apply externally. Vice President of Administration
UCTV’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is looking for a candidate who will assist in all executive tasks, agendas, and initiatives in relation to HR. As an executive board officer, the CHRO oversees the functioning of all six departments, the executive board members, and external relations with other organizations. Your responsibilities as a VP incude but is not limited to:
Managing, driving, and streamlining recruitment processes
Writing job descriptions and posting them on job boards
Setting up and running involvement and career fairs
Resume and cover letter review, interview scheduling, sending offer/rejection letters
Payroll process and other compensation-related tasks
Onboarding and training
Planning, organizing, and executing successful UCTV internal events to boost retention and improve cross-functional collaboration
Handling internal communications regarding behavioral matters, member conflicts, and announcements
Assisting the CHRO in designing and developing structures to support the organizational growth of UCTV’s member base spanning across our 6 departments
Specific job requirements include:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills – this role hinges on the ability to effectively manage multiple lines of communication at the same time. Exceptional written and verbal skills are essential to demonstrate through different modes of contact: in-person, over the phone, video conferencing, email, etc.
Advanced organizational skills
Fine attention to detail, professional, dependable, and driven.
Time commitment (approx. 10 hrs per week)
4 hours per week of required in-person “office hours” at the UCTV office/studio in the Student Union.
1 hour per week for weekly HR team meetings to discuss weekly agenda, tasks, updates, and ideas.
Remaining hours are variable/flexible and may be either remote or in-person work
Taking meeting minutes during weekly team meetings and any other meetings as necessary.
Skills/Attributes/Experiences that are a bonus but not required are:
Enthusiastic, passionate, and caring. EQ and empathy are important qualities to possess to be successful in the HR space.
Excel spreadsheet creation and/or other forms of organizing and presenting information in a neat and concise way
Event-planning
Experience with administrative duties
Conflict resolution
Leadership experience

Vice President of Diversity
UCTV’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is looking for a candidate who will drive all diversity and inclusion related tasks, agendas, and initiatives.
The VP of Diversity will be responsible for developing and implementing UCTV's overall diversity strategy, building relationships with cultural centers and other organizations on campus, and planning events that promote diversity and inclusion across all six UCTV departments.
Your responsibilities as a VP include but are not limited to:
Building relations with UConn’s cultural centers (Native American Cultural Center, Women's Center, Rainbow Center, African American Cultural Center, Asian Center, etc…), organizations supporting other minorities, and clubs that promote diversity and inclusion on campus
Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing internal events to fuel professional development, sharpening media and business acumen, and navigating post-undergraduate career plans.
Leading diversity and inclusion trainings in different formats/modes
Acting as main point of contact for any diversity and inclusion related matters
Specific job requirements include:
Working closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer
Highly creative, ready to push the boundaries of what is considered to be the “norm” and have a strong passion for uplifting others, bringing a vast range of students with different backgrounds into the spotlight, and helping people’s voices to be heard.

Required weekly team meetings and any other meetings as necessary to attend
Skills that are preferred but not required are:
Working knowledge of UCTV
Previous experience with events planning
Experience with outside organizations and clubs on campus
Excellent oral communication skills and ability to network with a wide range of people that are different ages.
Time management skills
