  • 3/3 Humanities Undergraduate Research Symposium (HURS)

The University of Connecticut’s annual student-run Humanities Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place on March 3rd, 2023 at the Humanities Institute on the 4th floor of the Homer Babbidge Library. It will be running all day, from 9am to 6:30pm.

This undergraduate symposium provides students with the yearly opportunity to showcase their humanities-based research, driving necessary conversations to fit our contemporary period. The event will consist of six undergraduate panels on a variety of topics, including Art, Attention, and Media, Belonging and Social Binaries, Cultural Identities and Heritage, Migration and Crossing Borders, and Antiracism and Social Justice. Each student represented on these panels has engaged a variety of texts, delving deeper into their given topic and creating amazing ideas with well-informed conclusions.

Students will also have the opportunity to garner an increased understanding of the humanities and how they might engage in research. The symposium will feature a keynote presentation by Professor Sarah Willen, as well as informational panels on humanities research at UConn and beyond!
