Career, Internship & Fellowship

  • 2/28 Attend the Careers for the Common Good Expo

Interested in a Career for the Common Good? Come to the Center for Career Development's Careers for the Common Good Expo, occurring on Tuesday, February 28 from 1-3pm in the Student Union on the Storrs campus.

There will be many different companies and organizations wanting to talk to students about socially responsible career paths. For example, the Connecticut Green Bank is interested in talking to students about the intersection between sustainability and banking. The Connecticut Green Bank is the United States’ first state-level “Green Bank”. Green Banks focus on funding and investing in the green economy (i.e., clean energy and sustainable industrial practices) in order to protect the environment. The CT Green Bank focuses on home, building, contractor, and community solutions, as well as investment opportunities for individuals to encourage them to contribute to improving the environment while earning a return on investment. Students majoring in Natural Resources and the Environment (NRE), Earth Sciences, Economics, Finance, and similar areas of study; students interested in working for a non-profit organization; and students interested in a career in sustainability and/or banking may find these job openings interesting.

Additionally, G360 will be at the expo to talk to students interested in the intersection between sustainability and software development. G360 is a company that focuses on data solutions for sustainable problems. Their mission is to offer a comprehensive, cloud-based database for companies working on sustainability initiatives, so their work is based on the most up-to-date climate and sustainability facts. The company is based out of Boston, MA with an additional office in China. Students wanting to pursue a career in software, operations, sales, and/or sustainability may find these job openings interesting.
