  • Common Misconceptions about Parking Rules

    Did you know?

    • A vehicle is considered "parked" when is it not moving, regardless of its occupancy or operational state.  So just because someone is in a vehicle or the vehicle is running, it is not exempted from parking rules and regulations.
    • Storrs Resident Permits are valid in Lots A, D, T, W & Hilltop Apartments (where designated).
    • Storrs Resident Permits do NOT allow parking in spaces designated as Area 2, even if they are located within a lot that also contains resident parking spaces.
    • Resident parking lots are reserved for students with resident permits 24/7 during the academic year.
    • A permit or payment for hourly parking is required 24/7 in the North and South Garages.
    • Parking Enforcement Staff are patrolling the Storrs campus in the evening and on the weekend during the academic year.
