Are you an avid podcast listener? Do you enjoy writing or want to learn more about audio editing? Do you have a passion for social media marketing? Or do you advocate for stories of firsts to be shared and spread across campus? Consider joining the My First Year Story Podcast! The podcast is broken up into four teams that work together to produce a show about the first year at Uconn, to exchange stories of interconnectedness, learning, growing, and the mistakes we make along the way. A guest is welcomed each week, from professors well into their careers to students who are making a difference across campus. All four teams are looking for new members, and no experience is needed, as current members guide and help get more comfortable in these skills.
Production Team: works with the executive producer, organizes the content, helps plan future episodes, and organizes the guest appearances. Great networking experience.
Writing Team: Outlines each episode, as well as summarizes the episodes for posting. Writers need to be comfortable with researching about the guest and topics, and use a variety of websites to gather information.
Tech Team: Records and edits podcast episodes, as well as troubleshoots technical difficulties. Having an interest in video and audio editing is very important.
Promotional Team: Creates content for the podcast social media pages and designs merch for our team. All creative minds are welcomed!
