  • Male Participants Wanted for Exercise Study

Volunteers wanted for a Research Study: The Influence of the Guardian Cap on Thermoregulation During Exercise in the Heat

The purpose of this study is to determine if the Guardian Cap football helmet cover influences body core temperature during exercise in the heat. The NFL has recently mandated that the Guardian Cap be worn during practices to reduce the risk of head injury, but is unknown whether it has an unintended effect of increasing core temperature.

We are looking for male participants who:
    1) have experience playing American Football
    2) are between the ages of 18-35
    3) have a body mass above approximately 200lb to represent American football tight ends, linebackers, and linemen

The study involves 6 total visits to the laboratory totaling approximately 11 hours. Compensation will be provided to participants ($1,300).
