    College Advising Corps is seeking service-oriented and enthusiastic individuals to support students and their families through the college admissions process. We believe in making college accessible to ALL students, no matter their background.

    We are currently hiring for a January - June, with the option to return for a full academic year '23-'24

    University of Connecticut College Advising Corps works to increase the rates of college enrollment and completion among low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented high school students. College Advising Corps at UConn hires recent college graduates through AmeriCorps to serve as college advisers in high-need high schools.

    Essential Duties

    College Advisers serve in partner high schools across the state to increase post-secondary enrollment among all students. College Advisers will:

    • Provide one-on-one support for students and families navigating admissions and financial aid processes.
    • Develop and host workshops and events to encourage post-secondary planning, including college, trade schools, military, and careers
    • Establish relationships with students, their families, faculty, staff, school officials, and the community at-large
    • Promote awareness of College Advising Corps through various means
    • Track and analyze data to make for assessment and decision making
    • Develop working knowledge of financial aid and admissions processes
    • Coordinate college visits along with building staff
