  • Join the UConn Astronomy Association E-Board

    The UConn Astronomy Association is seeking a new Secretary and Event Coordinator, both of which will start in Winter 2023. 

    Secretary: This is the person responsible for recording Association activity and membership attendance number, both at group and officer meetings. The Secretary is the assistant to the President in interactions with other organizations and UConn officials, particularly related to public awareness and relations. The Secretary conducts Officer elections. The secretary also will post on social media. Meeting minutes are not used/nor needed unless in a specific requested case. The time commitment for this role is about 2 hours a week including meeting commitments (weekly meetings are an hour long). 

    Event Coordinator: This is the person responsible for notifying and assisting in planning events and meetings. The Event Coordinator is the assistant to the President in interactions with organization members. They are responsible for inputting meeting events into the google calendar for reference by the president and vice president, who will notify the general public of event happenings. The time commitment for this role is about 3 hours a week including meeting commitments (weekly meetings are an hour long). 

    Both roles are flexible and we are a very welcoming and open eboard for all! New officers in these roles will be trained by the existing officers and will be guided through this process.
