  • 11/9 Slang and Idioms in American English Workshop

When you hear people use idioms or other slang expressions in English, do they ""go in one ear, out the other?"" Or are they ""a piece of cake"" for you? Please come to CISS to learn some common slangs and Idioms in American English with Tami Devine, UCAELI staff.

In this workshop, participants will learn about the meaning and origin of many common idioms used in American English. The workshop aims to enhance the listening comprehension of non-native speakers of English within the UCONN community, as well as provide useful expressions to incorporate into their speech. Students will be encouraged to draw connections to the cultural and linguistic elements found in their native languages.

    Date: Wednesday, November 9, 3:30pm-4:30pm

    Location: CISS 202
