  • Spring 2023: Infant & Toddler Develop. HDFS 5101

    Introduction to research and theory on the development of children from the prenatal period to age 3 years. The course will focus on a variety of topics including health and nutrition, brain development, cognitive and language skills, joint attention, Theory of Mind, attachment theory, emotion regulation and temperament, and self-development. Contextual influences such as family, early care and education, home visiting, and community characteristics will be considered to explain variation in early childhood development. Topics of interest to students are welcome and will be integrated into the course material.
