Did you know many women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ artists are MIA from Wikipedia? Join the Benton in a Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon to add the forgotten artists, authors, and editors of science fiction pulps. Bring your laptops and learn how to research and edit Wikipedia to make it more inclusive.

Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon is an annual, global collaborative effort to redress the under representation of women, gender fluid, and BIPOC women weditors and artists to the global online encyclopedia. http://artandfeminism.org offers online training for instructors/editors, provides grant monies for pizza and childcare, and backup when the inevitable “old guard” male Wiki editor resistance to an addition kicks in.

In conjunction with the exhibition, "Ray Guns, Dames, and the Guilty Gaze: Feminism and the Golden Age of Science Fiction Pulps", the Benton is hosting a Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon to add the forgotten artists, authors, and editors of science fiction pulps.

The exhibition and related public programs are supported by the University of Connecticut Humanities Institute, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, the School of Fine Arts, and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
