America Reads is a volunteer program that strives to enrich learning and literacy in students K-12 across Connecticut. At this time, we are looking for volunteers to help with our Kinsella High School program that is located in Hartford, CT. The time for volunteering would be 8:00am-10:25am on Thursday mornings, which includes 40 minutes to get there, 1hr of volunteering, and 40 minutes to get back to UConn. Transportation is provided by Community Outreach. As a volunteer, you would mainly be acting as a teachers aid by helping the teacher with whatever needs to be done in the classroom, as well as helping students 1 on 1 with classwork.
