Beyond the PhD is excited to welcome Dr. Ria Fyffe-Freil, a Clinical Chemistry fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Fyffe-Freil earned her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University after studying molecular mechanisms of organ preservation injury in livers for transplantation and is a fierce advocate for organ donation. She struggled to find a career that aligned with her interests/values and after investigating as many paths as possible, clinical chemistry literally fell into her lap. Dr. Fyffe-Freil will be giving a virtual seminar about her career path next Thursday, September 29th at 3PM ET. Registration for the event is free and is open to anybody interested.
