    Younger Adults and Microbiome Research Study Volunteers Needed

    The UConn Center on Aging is teaming up with Jackson Laboratory to study the gut, skin, and oral
    microbiomes of younger adults (age between 30-50 years).

    To Be Eligible:

    • Men and Women must be between 30-50 years old
    • Available to come to UConn Health for 3 study visits about 3 months apart (total study time approximately 6 months)

    Exclusions:

    • Use of antibiotics within the past two weeks
    • Gastrointestinal/digestive distress or intestinal bleeding in the previous two weeks
    • Terminal illness (palliative or hospice care)

    We will ask you to come in for three study visits to answer questions about your health history, diet, and
    oral and skin health, and we will collect mouth and skin swabs. We will then provide you with a
    collection kit to collect a stool sample that you can mail back or bring to your next visit.

    Volunteers who complete the study will be reimbursed up to $100 for their participation.
