School, Program, and Course Information

  • Bridge Between Popular Education and University

For years now, the philosophy of education reading group / course has acted as a bridge between the university and local communities in Connecticut and beyond. We have also been successful at creating educational spaces of belonging at UConn where everyone is valued and no one is disposable.

It is my hope that you will consider joining us this semester as we engage in educational theory and praxis, but only if you are ready and willing to discuss how we can transform education in academia, media, and politics.

Here is the flyer for the reading group: https://www.canva.com/design/DAE16a3Fij0/ZgQSJsI768M39ek138x-Xw/view?utm_content=DAE16a3Fij0&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=publishsharelink

Information about getting credit for the reading group is on the flyer, but one thing not mentioned on the flyer is that the group will be very beneficial for TA's and GA's.

TA/GA's: The group will be very influential for new teachers as we provide emotional and educational support for fellow educators. But also, the group will be helpful for those who just want to talk about how their classes are going and how they are balancing being a student and teacher.

    So, come join us.

    Come and get your healing.
    Come and find community.
Come and find peace in the university.
