Financial Aid Information

  • Additional Resources for Fee Bill Payment

The Office of Student Financial Aid Services (OSFAS) wanted to provide additional information about how to pay for the upcoming academic year.

To align with best practice, UConn is no longer including the Federal Direct PLUS Loan eligibility option in your aid offer. While not included in your financial aid offer, this is still an option available to you.

To determine your financial aid eligibility (i.e. Maximum amount of loan you may borrow) follow the steps below:

    • Sign into the Student Administration System
    • Navigate to the Financial Aid tile from the homepage
    • Go to Awards section
    • Click on the College Financing Plan. This tool can be used to determine your remaining financial aid eligibility

To avoid unnecessary loan debt, the OSFAS discourages over-borrowing and suggests accepting loan funds only if required to meet educational expenses.  Student loan repayment information is available https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/repayment.

Information regarding your financing options can be found on the UConn Financial Aid website https://financialaid.uconn.edu/financing-options/ which includes, information on the Federal Direct Plus Loan, Alternative/Private Loans, and the UConn Payment Plan.  These are resources that you may want to consider exploring to assist with your outstanding balance, if applicable.
