Micah Heumann and Doug Glanville join Beyond the Play with UCTV Sports to discuss transgender athletes in sports.
Micah is the Director of the Academic Center for Exploratory Students at UConn, and has a transgender son. Professor Doug Glanville is a former MLB Player, a Commentator at ESPN, and a Professor in the Sport Management Department at UConn.
They cover the recent news of Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer at Penn, and Caster Semenya, an Olympic runner who was banned for having high testosterone levels. They also talk about inherent sexism in the conversation around transgender athletes, and much more.
