  • 4/5 NEDA: Relationships Between Food and Mental Health

The Women’s Center and SHAPE invite you to a WebEx panel discussion and Q&A on April 5th from 7pm-8:30pm to promote national awareness of how eating disorders play a role in one’s mental health. It is critical that we make space for these conversations not only to destigmatize the discussion around mental health, but also to more easily open up about preventative measures we can take, as well as checking-in with ourselves and with one another when it comes to our wellbeing. Additionally, through this panel, we hope to fuel activism and promote discussions challenging the everyday content, images, and associations we make with “diet culture” and what a “real” body looks like. Our panelists include Women’s Center Graduate Assistant, Tania Flores; Body Project Coordinator, Jordan Connolly; SHAW Registered Dietitian and Graduate Student, Jaclyn Lerner; and a “To-Be-Announced” SHAW staff member. You can find upcoming details on how to register at the Women’s Center Linktree on the Women’s Center Instagram. (@uconnwomenscenter).

We hope to see you there. Thank you.
