    Trip Leader or Assistant Trip Leader (Winter 2014-2015) !!

    UConn Empower, a humanitarian organization here at UConn, is looking for its next trip leaders for our upcoming winter-break service trip to India. The application is now open until April 20th - any and all interested applicants are encouraged to apply!   

    Trip Leader Job Description/Requirements:

    The trip leader’s primary role will be to execute all project ideas related to the specific abroad empowerment endeavors. The trip leader will work closely with UConn Empower’s travel coordinator, and be responsible for relaying all logistical material to their trip team. This individual will lead biweekly trip meetings, oversee all projects, keep track of and enforce deadlines, and motivate their team to be as successful as possible. The ideal candidate will be well adept at delegating tasks, organizing, and have a strong leadership background. Interested candidates should also be very flexible, with the motivation and time commitment to devote several hours a week to trip tasks. Candidates should be able to take initiative, express clear communication skills, and a positive attitude. Experience abroad is preferable.

     

    Assistant Trip Leader Job Description/Requirements:

    The assistant trip leader’s primary role will be to work alongside the trip leader and support them in all team related efforts. They will aid the trip leader in establishing team dynamics and effectively maintaining interpersonal communication and relations. Their focus will be to engage all team members as much as possible, in an effort to establish team camaraderie and a positive morale. They will support the trip director in keeping track of overall project progress, ensuring each trip member is well informed.
