  • 3/22 Book Discussion with Dr. Reuben Miller

The UConn School of Social Work and the UConn School of Law’s Center on Community Safety, Policing and Inequality are cosponsoring a book talk by Dr. Reuben Miller.

Moderated by Dr. Melanie Newport Dr. Miller will discuss his first book, Halfway Home: Race, Punishment, and the Afterlife of Mass Incarceration, which examines the American carceral system and explores the lifelong implications of a criminal record through nearly 250 interviews with (formerly) incarcerated men and women.

Doctoral students from the School of Social Work and the School of Law will respond to the book discussion, and an audience-driven Q&A will follow.

Dr. Miller is an Associate Professor at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice and Research professor at the American Bar Foundation.
