“EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SPACE LAW BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK”

Dr. Steve Mirmina, NASA, Washington, D.C.

Did you know that there are laws in outer space?  Did you know that there are International Treaties and U.S. Federal Laws that govern countries and companies as they explore space?  Prof. Mirmina will provide a high-level overview of Outer Space Law during his talk, addressing an array of topics ranging from Environmental Issues in Outer Space, to Planet Killing Asteroids, to Ownership of Lunar Real Estate. We will leave an abundant amount of time for Q&A, so please bring your questions!  It’s not often you get the chance to speak with a real-life, Space Lawyer.

Prof. Mirmina, a UCONN Law School alumnus, has worked at NASA for more than 20 years. He has spoken widely and authored numerous articles on Space Law topics. There will be a special student Q&A session after the talk from 4:30-5:00pm. Please come and bring questions!
