John Zhou - PhD Candidate
- Vanderbilt University: neuroscience and piano performance
- Case Western/Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Center: Molecular Medicine PhD program
- Astrocytes and Alzheimer's pathology
- Academia
Sarah Palko - PhD Candidate
- Attended University of Saint Joseph for undergraduate degree and majored in biology with a double minor in chemistry and mathematics.
- Attending UConn for PhD in biomedical sciences with a concentration in neuroscience.
- Current research is on understanding neurodegeneration via the retina.
- Professional goals for the future are to mentor and teach undergraduate students in the biomedical sciences field.
Marc Benoit - MD/PhD Candidate
- Attended Clark University for undergraduate degree and majored in biology with a minor in chemistry.
- Attending UConn for MD/PhD in biomedical sciences with a concentration in neuroscience.
- Current research is on adult neurogenesis in the context of Alzheimer’s Disease.
- Professional goal is to be a physician-scientist with a focus on neurological diseases.
Brittany Knight PhD - Program Coordinator of United States Association for the Study of Pain (USASP)
- Attended Lock Haven University, BS Psychology, Biology minor for Undergraduate degree.
- Attended UConn, Biomedical Sciences PhD program at UConn Health in Farmington, CT for Graduate degree.
- Current Program Coordinator at the United States Association for the Study of Pain (503(c) nonprofit organization)
- Professional goal is to become an Executive Director for an academic organization / professional society
