      UConn Nu Rho Psi are hosting a Graduate Research Panel virtually, next Thursday, February 24th at 7pm. We will be having the following speakers at the panel listed below along with more information about their occupation/research interests and prior education experiences:
      1. John Zhou - PhD Candidate
        • Vanderbilt University: neuroscience and piano performance
        • Case Western/Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Center: Molecular Medicine PhD program
        • Astrocytes and Alzheimer's pathology
        • Academia
      2. Sarah Palko - PhD Candidate
        • Attended University of Saint Joseph for undergraduate degree and majored in biology with a double minor in chemistry and mathematics.
        • Attending UConn for PhD in biomedical sciences with a concentration in neuroscience.
        • Current research is on understanding neurodegeneration via the retina.
        • Professional goals for the future are to mentor and teach undergraduate students in the biomedical sciences field.
      3. Marc Benoit - MD/PhD Candidate
        • Attended Clark University for undergraduate degree and majored in biology with a minor in chemistry.
        • Attending UConn for MD/PhD in biomedical sciences with a concentration in neuroscience.
        • Current research is on adult neurogenesis in the context of Alzheimer’s Disease.
        • Professional goal is to be a physician-scientist with a focus on neurological diseases.
      4. Brittany Knight PhD - Program Coordinator of United States Association for the Study of Pain (USASP)
        • Attended Lock Haven University, BS Psychology,  Biology minor for Undergraduate degree.
        • Attended UConn, Biomedical Sciences PhD program at UConn Health in Farmington, CT for Graduate degree.
        • Current Program Coordinator at the United States Association for the Study of Pain (503(c) nonprofit organization)
        • Professional goal is to become an Executive Director for an academic organization / professional society
