  • Master's in Social Work: Be An Agent of Change

    Social workers changes lives.

Have you thought of pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree? I want to inform you that the UConn School of Social Work is dedicated to diversity and to empowering students to recognize and challenge the ways power and privilege perpetuate inequality. Our MSW degree will prepare you to promote social and economic justice and contribute to the improvement of human well-being.

Our graduates are trained to lead in social, cultural, and political issues, including preventing and alleviating the effects of violence and poverty, particularly in urban centers, and advocating for improved social policies and services, locally and globally.

We offer flexible MSW study plans, including an Advanced Standing option, where students share common broad-based foundation courses with advanced specialization in method concentrations and the opportunity to select a focused area of study. Field education is core to our curriculum and provides the opportunity to intern in a wide range of urban, rural, and international contexts under the supervision of experienced social workers

We’re here to help you make an informed decision about your path to achieving an MSW, and will be delighted to speak with you. Feel free to join one of our upcoming info sessions and open houses. Also, review our Admissions process by clicking here for admission details.
