  • 11/12 Humanities Undergraduate Research Symposium

UConn’s first-ever Humanities Undergraduate Research Symposium (HURS) will take place on Nov. 12, 2021, at the Humanities Institute in the Homer Babbidge Library. We invite all students to attend and watch our panelists present their work!

In addition to our student presenters, the symposium will feature three events: (1) An informational panel on getting involved with humanities research as an undergraduate student (11:30-12:30pm), (2) an informational panel on futures in the humanities, especially graduate school (3:00-3:45pm), and (3) a keynote speech on intersectionality and diversity within the humanities by Dr. Alexis Boylan (6:00-7:00pm).

HURS will be an amazing platform for celebrating student work, introducing students to what humanities research entails, and giving students more insight into applying to conferences or pursuing graduate school.

All 3 events that are part of the symposium will be held at the Humanities Institute on the fourth floor of the Homer Babbidge Library (with a virtual livestream option).
