  • 11/13 Global Cultures Conference

The mission of the 2021 Global Cultures Conference is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the role we play as global citizens. Attendees should walk away with the ability to understand the complexity of global relations. In doing so, we will foster an environment of cultured intellectuals capable of deeper thought and reasoning.

The first annual Global Cultures Conference 2021 invites students to better understand the role they play as global citizens.

This two-part event will include students hearing from subject-matter experts from across University of Connecticut disciplines. And will give participants the opportunity to analyze and discuss the impact of the global refugee movement over the past decade and how that movement impacts the numerous intersections of global business, government, the economy, health, and the environment.

We hope to bring to light the differences and similarities in cultures throughout the world to inspire cooperation, curiosity, and confidence on the global stage – provoking conversations that matter within our First-Year Programs and the greater UConn community.
