18th Annual Celebrate Mansfield Festival will be Saturday, October 2
The Mansfield Downtown Partnership invites you to join in the fun at our 18th Annual Celebrate Mansfield Festival, which will take place on Saturday, October 2 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Downtown Storrs. (Rain date: Saturday, Oct. 9)
Mansfield’s largest community event is free and open to everyone! Enjoy hands-on activities for all ages, puppetry, music, and more. New this year will be a “Kids’ Zone” with child-friendly activities and entertainment on Wilbur Cross Way and a juried craft show on Dog Lane.
The fun begins at 2:00 PM with an opening ceremony on Betsy Paterson Square. There will be entertainment on the Square all afternoon, including an interactive drumming hoot (2:15 PM), a puppet pageant (3:00 PM), and performances by Zikina, an Afro-Jazz/Funk ensemble (3:30 PM), singer-songwriter Nanette Addesso (4:30 PM); and The Professors of Sweet, Sweet Music, a Hartford-based band with a pop– and folk-rock sound (5:00 PM).
Booths will be open from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Then, everyone is invited to grab some dinner from one of our great Downtown Storrs restaurants and head to Betsy Paterson Square for a closing concert by The Funky Dawgz Brass Band! The Funky Dawgz will perform from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
