Volunteer Opportunities

  • Still Looking for Tutors (Last Chance to Apply)

We are actively looking for people to fill up the 10 remaining spots left in our roster for Windham High School Tutoring.  I strongly encourage you all to apply since we still have a lot of space for new tutors. WHS is a great way to get involved on campus, add to your resume, and/or get hours for tutoring.

About the program: WHS Tutoring connects you, the UConn tutor, with a class of high school students at Windham High School in Willimantic, CT. You will be able to pick a class that fits a subject of your choice and will have the opportunity to interact with students directly in a small group environment or a one on one setting. Subjects include English, Chemistry, Algebra, Spanish and more! Students selected will be assigned a 2 hour shift where they will travel to Windham High School (courtesy of UConn) and tutor in-person. Students are expected to volunteer at least once a week to maintain their status in the program. You must be vaccinated in order to participate in this program.

The application process consists of this application and a short 15-minute interview that will be held in-person outside of SU 302 or remotely on WebEx. Information about the interviews will be sent to all applicants via email.  The application is linked here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1VrZMm4K8Fe-zi_nPNf3acyJTQ6zjZ5uid5EhCZpGwvw/.
