Volunteer Opportunities

  • Interested in Tutoring Underserved Students?

The Learn To Be UConn Student Chapter is looking for motivated volunteers who can serve as tutors for underserved children across the nation. Tutoring is extremely flexible, as you are able to choose who and when to tutor during the week. Tutoring is online through the Learn To Be website, and requires access to a computer with a webcam/microphone.

Learn To Be was founded in 2008 and recruits volunteers to bring free 1-on-1 tutoring to marginalized K-12 students around the nation. At UConn, we’re fighting for a day where there is real equity in education: all students should have equal opportunity to receive the skills to thrive. Tutors typically host one session with their student every week, covering topics such as math, reading, writing, biology, pre-calculus, and physics. Tutors may also help their students with test preparation (SAT, ACT, and/or AP exams), homework assignments, or problem-solving skills.

If you would like to become a tutor with us or have any questions, feel free to contact uconnlearntobe@gmail.com, or meet us during the Involvement Fair on 1/27 from 3-6 PM and 1/29 from 11-3 PM.
