  • Seeking LGBT+/nonLGBT+ UConn Employees for Survey

Are you interested in identifying needs to improve healthcare and the work environment for the LGBT+ community at UConn and UConn Health?

Who we need: ANY current employees of UConn and UConn Health - ALL sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome and encouraged to take this online-based survey! We will not ask or record your name or other identifying information. You will need to be age 18 or above, and will need Internet access.

    What we want to know:

    • The literature suggests that there is a disparity in quality of care for the LGBT+ population - does this disparity persist among LGBT+ healthcare workers?

    • Do LGBT+ healthcare workers report similar healthcare risks and comorbidities compared to the general population and other LGBT+ workers outside of the healthcare field?

    • Is preventative testing and screening among LGBT+ healthcare workers comparable to the general population and to other LGBT+ patients outside of the healthcare field?

    • With actions in recent years towards promoting work environments that are diverse, equitable, and inclusive, how is the workplace climate now for LGBT+ workers at UConn and UConn Health?

How to help: we invite you to participate in an online-only based survey for research purposes to explore sexual orientation and gender identity, healthcare maintenance and preventative service utilization, health comorbidities, and workplace climate among UConn employees in order to better understand healthcare utilization and experiences among the LGBT+ community at UConn and UConn Health. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and can be completed anywhere at any time.
