Seeking undergraduate students from any UConn campus (including remote students)
We are conducting a study entitled “PACER Study”. The goal of this study is to test the effect of yoga and training in distress tolerance (a mindfulness-based psychological approach) on college students’ ability to manage their stress. All research activities will occur virtually.
Who can participate?
· Those over the age of 18
· Undergraduate students currently enrolled at UConn (both remote and on-campus students are welcome to participate)
If you qualify for the study (based on a 5-10 minute short screening survey), you will be randomly assigned to a group. One group of students will participate in a virtual yoga class, one group of students will participate in a virtual training in a mindfulness-based psychological approach known as distress tolerance training (DTT), and one group of students will not be assigned to an intervention, but will have an opportunity to participate in free virtual yoga or DTT sessions. You will be asked to complete a 20-30 minute online survey at three different times over a period of 8 months. The surveys will ask some sensitive questions. Participation in this study is voluntary and strictly confidential. You will receive a $20 electronic gift card for each survey that you complete.
